Get a blast from the past with this tarot scene from Dynasty, Season 2, Episode 10 (1982). While in Rome, Alexis (Joan Collins) gets a reading from the “prophetess,” Adriana. The Visconti-Sforza deck is featured and, of course, DEATH!
The original video has been removed but you can still see the tarot segment in two pieces at minute 8:30 here and at the beginning here.
But, it’s much sexier when dubbed in French.

Try season 2, episode 10 – according to IMDB. I’m not sure about the translation – all I got was at the beginning when she said 2 of Cups behind 6 of Cups…

Thanks for the information. I was able to find the English-language version through the info you provided. But, I must admit that the French sounds better.

I thought the 2 cups with the 6 cups was quite a good interp but “He will expire” LOL left me as speechless as Joan Collins was at that moment! 😀

Mary-You just made my day!!!!
I was addicted to the series back then… I did not remember this reading. Had no clue yet about Tarot then.
Linda Evans is a Scorpio thus the Queen of Cups… 2 & 6 of cups was nice indeed, “he will expire” was a blast… they actually had real counseling for this….
Thanks for sharing!

That was fabulous! Other than the classic over dramatic acting, death card, stereotyping, and shadow type reading — I felt it was pretty accurate.
For example, I have seekers say they prefer one reading tool over the other (maybe that’s why — something was caught and they thought it had to do with that tool), seekers making evasive responses because they don’t want to you to catch on, and the card interpretations were good!
We are blessed to have your great interest tarot.

So funny! I used to watch all of those back in the day. In the 80s, they somehow seemed less ridiculous.
It seemed that, aside from calling Death actual physical death (“He will expire!” ha ha), the cards were fairly accurate. Someone must have advised the scriptwriters.

I think this episode missuses a little bit the Card of the Death with a too overdramatized moment when the XIII major comes out, don’t you think so?
Nice video, btw.

I think you will find that almost all use of tarot in movies and tv misuses the card of Death through overdramatization. Funny but sad.

Oh, boy! How fabulous! I must work on my accent and delivery (and jewelry accessories, too)! “He will EXPIRE!!” Can’t wait to do this to my next client! 🙂
Thanks so much, Mary!! This made my day!

This is TOO funny! Isn’t it funny how all tarot readers are portrayed as dramatic in the movies or on tv? Oy vey!

Clearly I need to dye my hair grey and get a foreign accent! Oh, and a big, round light globe.

Joan was great in her Dynasty role. I’m not so sure about Adriana – hamming it and creating such a sterotypical psychic
