So beautiful and tragic. One of the many places I want to visit is the Tuscany region and if and when I get there, I am sure to go and see that garden.

Thanks for posting these videos Mary. I just got a review copy of the just released Niki de Saint Phalle and the Tarot Garden (Benteli 2010). What extraordinary work! Would be great to have more material on this amazing artist and her Tarot work for the PCA/ACA conference and for the special Tarot issue of FemSpec currently in the planning stages!

What a fantastic setting for the tarot garden and what sheer dedication and determination she showed to achieve her dream.

While we’re saving up our money to go to Tuscany, we can visit Niki’s only installation in North America: Queen Califia’s Magic Circle in Escondido just north of San Diego. It has its own website at http://www.queencalifia.org

Sherryl – Thanks for the information about Queen Califia’s Magic Circle. I’m thrilled that at least one community took the opportunity to get such wonderful sculptures from Niki. I hope to be able to visit there, too.

Niki de Saint Phalle would never have allowed this shoot to happen had she been alive – http://ataleofafewcities.tumblr.com/post/1531237498/niki-de-saint-phalle-must-be-turning-in-her-grave
