In this music video two children do a five card tarot reading predicting a series of future events—all happening at the same resort hotel. Meanwhile we see their future selves (at these five different times) interspersed with their child selves. The exquisite Olivia Wilde, who appears on the TV program “House,” is the final adult woman. The deck appears to have been created specifically for this video. It’s worth watching several times to piece together the whole story.
Can anyone pick out what cards they are supposed to be and describe each of the predicted events?

Very cute. I couldn’t make out what the cards were as it was such a fast pan, but the concept rates “2 awws” from this hopeless romantic. Mary, I marvel at your resourcefulness!

Thank goodness for the pause button and scroll bar (;
Only managed to get four of the five cards:
Lovers____Moon____Queen of Cups
_________Tower_______________
The fifth card on the top of the reading you don’t actually get to see in any detail because of the swift panning right at the end, but it looks like another Tower (two Towers in the same deck? That’s careless!)! But I suspect that the “meanings” are not traditional and the Tower here simply represents the building/location. Cute video and pretty Thothy card borders (:

I believe this is the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.

Good call on the cards. I was able to make out the names of two of them but not the others. I think of the two Towers (yes, it is the Hotel Del Coronado) – one is dark and the other is light. Interesting.

What a find, Mary!
Those cards were hard to read!
I thought they were Lovers – Star – Ace of Cups and Tower (twice)
Star being his “ideal” and hope, Lovers–them coming together–the Ace of Cups…communal joy of the marriage feast and the “stealing” of his heart–and the two Towers, showing that difficulties and the “winters” of our life can isolate or join, and the relationship itself can be a barrier between (wall) or a protection (roof/surrounding structure).

So we know for sure that there is a Lovers and two Towers, but the other two cards are still up for grabs.
Linda – I liked the music – although the lyrics were a little strange. Yeah, BATS – this weekend! See ya.

Hah! I love it when images like these play with the time-sequence/s…
My take on the cards is that in the final spread there’s The Lovers, The Moon, The Queen of Cups and two Towers (no, no, no – this isn’t Lord of the Rings!).
The card images are taken from what occurs in the video-story, but not always as depicted in the video sequence. (e.g. The Moon card – at 1min 25secs or thereabouts – shows a different, darker pendant than in the video and is a diff camera-angle). And is the shot just before we see the box of cards on the window-sill, harking back to the beginning. Can’t remember if there’s a ‘dark’ tower shot in the video… could be a visual ref. to changing seasons and times?
Continuity varies, but in Tarot I guess that goes as well as anything else does – and who needs an excuse anyway?; towards the end (3.10 when the lower Tower is being laid out), the dealing hand still holds two cards, neither of which is another Tower, one of them being a pic of the two children about to lay out the cards (at c.51secs) which would have (=does) add/ed, a nice circular touch.
Fun!

A-m –
Really good catch about the tarot card pic of the two children laying out the cards! The changing seasons is a major thread as one re-occurring theme seems to be that of the bitter-sweet final day of the resort season – which continually tears the lovers apart.
