I’ve always found fascinating the fact that the name of these cards and of their readers -Wahrsagekarten, Wahrsager, Wahrsagerin – means literally “those who tell the truth” 🙂

oops I published too soon. I was about to say that Wahrsager/in is the German word for fortuneteller, literally meaning “he/she who tells the truth :))
